Controlled Clinical Observation of Tongbian Decoction in Treatment of Constipation

Objective To observe clinical therapeutic effect of Tongbian decoction treatment of chronic functional constipation. Methods 90 cases of patients with chronic functional constipation were randomly divided into treatment group(45 cases) and control group(45cases) were respectively given Tongbian decoction and polyethylene glycol powder,4 weeks for treatment,and side effects were observed.Results After treatment,number of bowel movements were significantly increased,stool consistency improved,the treatment group was better than the control group,the difference was statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusion Tongbian decoction in treatment of chronic functional constipation has better than treated with polyethylene glycol powder,has satisfactory therapeutic effect,better safety and tolerability,should be widely applied.
