Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Carisolv for the Chemo-mechanical removal of deep caries in deciduous molars. Methods 108 cases of deep caries in deciduous molars were divided into 2 groups,58 cases of dental caries were treated with carisolv gel and tools(Carisolv group) and 50 cases of dental caries were treated with rotary burs(control group).1-year follow-up,the efficacy was compared between two groups. Results The Carisolv technique had the same effect on caries removal in primary teeth with hand instruments method(P0.05),but x-ray showed that effective rate in the carisolv group was significant increase(P0.01).Conclusions The Carisolv technique is gentle operation,it can be strongly recommended for clinical caries in primary teeth, particularly for fear and fidgety children.
