Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of atorvastatin on the blood lipid level in acute cerebral infarction patients with normal lipid level.Methods A total of 266acute cerebral infarction patients with normal blood lipid level were randomly divided into two groups,atorvastatin group(n=135)and control group(n=131).Control group received routine treatment,and atorvastatin group received 20 mg atorvastatin once a day totally for 12 months in addition to routine treatment.The serum levels of blood lipid,glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT)and creatine kinase(CK) were detected at admission,and 6months and 12months after treatment.Results The serum levels of total cholesterol(TC)and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C)decreased significantly and the serum concentration of high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C)increased significantly in atorvastatin group compared with control group 6months after treatment(P0.05).There was no significant difference in serum concentration of triacylglycerol(TG)between two groups(P0.05).The levels of TC,TG and LDL-C decreased,and HDL-C increased in atorvastatin group compared with control group 12months after treatment(P0.05).There were no significant differences in levels of CK and GOT 6and 12months after treatment between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Atorvastatin can decrease the blood lipid level in acute cerebral infarction patients with normal blood lipid level,therefore statins should be administered as early as possible to delay the atherosclerosis.
