Abstract
According to the needs of present development of electric power system, the principle of reactive power compensation method were studied. At conclusion of the traditional method to compensate,Thyristor Controlled Reactor was put forward,so proposed including Thyristor Switched Capacitor,Static Var Generator,Active Power Filter,Unified Power Flow Con-troller,each advantage to the above was expounded.Power system users today have a lot of frequent changes in reactive power electrical equipment and instruments,so the system reactive power compensation is very urgent. In addition, after the reactive power compensation can reduce grid power loss and improve the output power transformer equipment and economic benefits.
