Abstract

Objective To study the difference of the effectiveness of Misoprostol oral or vaginal administration in cervical dilatation, operation time, intraoperative hemorrhage and pain perception before induced abortion. Methods Totally 90 nulliparous women asking for termination of pregnancy with normal intrauterine pregnancy between 6 to 8 weeks' gestation were divided randomly into 3 groups.Thirty cases were taken Misoprostol orally in Group A and other 30 cases were vaginal administrated Misoprostol in Group B while 30 cases were carried out the common practice of induced abortion in Group C.Results The degree of cervical dilatation in group B was better than that in group A(P0.05)and the degree of cervical dilatation in group A was better than that in group C(P0.05).The time duration of surgery in group A and B were obviously shorter than that in group C(P0.05),the hemorrhage volume in group A and B were much less than that in group C(P0.05),women having moderate and severe pain perception in group A and B were much less than that in group C(P0.05)and there was no significant difference beteen group A and B.Conclusion Misoprostol oral or vaginal administration could dilate cervix, decrease the hemorrhage volume and the operation time, relieve the distress of patients.Misoprostol vaginal administration was better for cervical preparation of nulliparous women before artificial abortion that could be proper cervical preparation before induced abortion for nulliparous women.
