Abstract
Glutaraldehyde-starch hydrolysate-citric acid and glyoxal-starch hydrolysate-citric acid were employed in crease resistant finishing of fabrics. The effects of different molar ratios between citric acid-starch hydrolysate and glyoxal(or glutaraldehyde),curing temperature, curing time and the concentration of catalyst(MgCl2) on cotton fabrics were studied. The effects of two kinds of crease resistant finishing methods were compared. The results showed that finishing cotton fabrics with glutaraldehyde-starch hydrolysate-citric acid was a more ideal method for wrinkle-free finishing.Compared the method with 2D resins or glyoxal-starch hydrolysate-citric acid methods, crease recovery angle was increased considerably and strength was increased a little.
