Abstract

Finishing agent of citric acid-glutaraldehyde that is free of formaldehyde was prepared and applied to cotton fabric for anti-crease finishing. The influence of citric acid-glutaraldehyde dosage, sodium hypophosphite dosage, curing temperature and time were studied. The results showed that the optimum conditions for anti-crease finishing were as follows: citric acid-glutaraldehyde dosage was 8%;sodium hypophosphite dosage was 4%;curing temperature was 160℃;and curing time was 120s.The crease recovery angle of finished cotton fabric was significantly improved with good performance in whiteness, breaking strength and washing endurance.
