Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Bazhen decoction on the premenopausal syndrome. Methods 125 patients were randomly divided into 2 groups. The 65 patients in treatment group were treated by Bazhen decoction one dose a day.The control group was treated by Nitestriol 2mg each time, once every two weeks. Both of their treatment courses were one month and were continuously observed for three courses after which the effects were evaluated. Results The curative and effective rates in the treatment group were 83.1% and 92.3%,which were superior to 76.7% and 90.0% in the control group, respectively. There were no statistical differences between two groups.Side effect in the treated group was obviously less than that of the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Bazhen decoction and estrogen replacement therapy have the same therapeutic effects on premenopausal symptoms, while the side effects in treatment group are much less.
