The expression of Fas in placenta in patients with severe pre-eclampsia

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of Fas in placenta in patients with severe pre-eclampsia.Methods:Fas of placenta was determined by immunohistological method and compared between normal late pregnancy(24 cases) and pre-eclampsia(24 cases).Results:Different degree expression of Fas can be observed in the trophoblasts of almost placentas,but less expression of Fas can be seen in dometrium tissues.Positive immunostain Fas was mainly located in the cytoplasm and membrane of syncytiotropgoblast and cytotrophoblast.Fas expression significantly greater in the study subjects compared with controls(P0.05).Conclusion:Altered expression of Fas in trophoblasts might influence pathogenesis or sequelate of pre-eclampsia.
