Abstract

Hu Shi was the reformer of China's modern bourgeoisie. Politically, although he remained constantly to oppose the Communist Party, he had remarkable achievements in the field of education. He was also a prolific writer, a distinguished scholar and a widely recognized leader in the educational circle. He had developed his comparatively systematic educational thoughts. To sort out and probe into his thoughts on education will be very beneficial to the reform and development of higher education in China.
