Abstract

Objective To observe the changes in serum lecel of tumor necrosis factor α(TNF α),interleukin 1 β(IL 1 β),and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1(sICAM 1)between acute phase and recovery phase of patients with cerebral infarction.Methods Serum levels of TNF α,Il 1 β,and sICAM 1 were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Serum levels of TNF α,IL 1 β,and sICAM 1 in patients with cerebral infarctions of acute phase and recovery phase increased remarkably ascompared with control group( P 0 001, P 0 05).The levels in patients during the acute phase also increased remarkably as compared with recovery phase( P 0 05, P 0 01).There was a positive correlation among the extent of infarction,the degree neurological deficits and different infarct volumes.On the other hand,a positive correlation was found among sICAM 1,TNF α and IL 1β.Conclusion TNF-α,IL-1 β,and sICAM-1 possibly play a role in the inflammatory reaction in early cerebra infarction and the damage after reperfusion. [
