Abstract

Objective:To study of SSF on the impaired learning and memory of mice induced by some chemical agents. Methods:The mice water maze performance was used to evaluate the effects of SSF on learning and memory deficits of mice induced by scopolamine and carbrital. The latency to find terminal platform and the number of errors entering non exits in water maze were measured to assess the performance.Piracetam (PIR)used as reference drug.Results:Scopolamine(3mg/kg,ip) obviously impaired the memory in the trained mice.SSF(50,100,200mg/kg,ig,12d)significantly reversed the memory deficits induced by scopolamine.During 5 d acquisition trials, the carbrital obviously inhibited the mice memory acquisition. Both PIR(200mg/kg,ig,12d)and SSF(50,100,200mg/kg,ig,12d)could reduce the increased latencies and number of errors. Conclusion:SSFcould improve the impaired memory of mice caused by scopolamine and cerbrital.
