Baclofen for incomplete injury of spinal cord with urinary dysfuntion

Objective To observe the effect of baclofen for incomplete injury of spinal cord with urinary dysfunction. Methods 32 cases were randomly divided into two groups: The control group (14 cases) were treated by intermittent catheterization and the observation group(18 cases) were treated by intermittent catheterization and baclofen. The time of recovery of urination function, urinary infection and sequelae were compared between the two groups, respectively. Results In the observation group, the average time of urination function recovery is 5.05 d, and that time in the control group is 9.28 d(P0.01); There were 2 cases of sequelae in the control group and none in the observation group. Conclusions Baclofen can promote the rehabilitation of the bladder function for incomplete injury of spinal cord with urinary dysfunction.
