Detachable coil embolization treatment of intracranial aneurysms

Objective To summarize the technique of endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysms,the prevention of the complications and its curative effect.Methods34 patients with 36 intracranial aneurysms embolized with GDC were retrospectively analyzed.2 wide-necked aneurysms were treated by coil embolization assisted with stent.ResultsPyknotic embolization was achieved in 29 aneurysms and near pyknotic embolization in 4 aneurysms and incomplete embolization in 1 case.Aneurysm rupture occurred in 1 case.All patients were followed up 3 to 9 months.26 cases recovered normal working and living.2 cases became partly life-independent.ConclusionThe embolization of intracranial aneurysms with GDC is minimally invasive,safe,effective and reliable.It is important to choose the exactly right method of embolization,which can improve the therapeutic effect and prevent the complications.
