Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of Granisetron hydrochloride on the prevention of nausea and vomiting after neurosurgical operation.Methods:40 patients were randomly divided into two groups: the study group ( n =20) were intravenously administrated 3 mg of Granisetron hydrochloride,while the control group were given 5 mL of 0.9% NaCl. The incidence rate of postoperative nausea and vomiting was recorded,and the side effects of the drug were also observed.Results:The incidence rate was less in the study group (15%) than in the control group (55%).Conclusion:Intravenously administration of Granisetron hydrochloride during the neurosurgical operation can significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting.
