Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To observe the protective effect of Reduced Glutathione on hepatocellular injury in patients with chronic hepatitis B. METHODS:A total of 90 patients with chronic hepatitis B were randomly assigned to receive 150 mg diammonium glycyrrhizinate (iv gtt qd) alone (control group,n=45) or in combination with and 1.2 g reduced glutathione (iv gtt qd) (treatment group,n=45) for 4 weeks. The changes in clinical symptoms and liver function were evaluated before and after treatment. RESULTS:The treatment group showed an earlier improvement of sysmptoms than in control group (P0.05),and the change of liver function in the treatment group had significant difference compared with that in the control group (P0.01). CONCLUSION:The reduced glutathione has protective effect on hepatocellular injury in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
