Abstract

Heritage Preservation is an important academic field in Landscape Architecture.The historic/cultural landscape preservation of the United States has entered the first line ranking of the world.It is beneficial for the analysis of development courses and educational characteristics of American historic/cultural landscape preservation to enlighten and instruct the heritage education of landscape architecture in China.The article consists of three parts.The first one begins with the concepts of the American historic landscape and cultural landscape.Then the second one introduces the American historic/cultural landscape preservation and education overviews.Finally it summarizes the protection courses of American historic/cultural landscape and its educational characteristics.
