Abstract

[Objective] The aim was to study the chemical characteristics of tobacco under different varieties, cultivating soils and altitudes.[Method] The contents of total sugar, reducing sugar, total nitrogen, nitrogen, potassium, chlorine, and the difference between total sugar and reducing sugar,sugar-nicotine ratio,nitrogen-nicotine ratio,potassium-chlorine ratio in tobacco leaves from different varieties(K326,Yunyan87 and G80),cultivating soils(paddy and dry land) and altitudes(0-300,300-800 and above 800 m),as well as correlation between altitude and chemical characteristics were researched.[Result] The results indicated that there were some differences of chemical characteristics among three tobacco varieties, and K326 and yun87 were better than G80.There was a great difference of the chemical constituents of tobacco in paddy and dry land, and the contents of total nitrogen, potassium and chlorine of tobacco planting in paddy were higher than dry land. There was a great difference of total sugar, reducing sugar, nitrogen, potassium, chlorine content in tobacco planting in different altitude, and there was a significant positively correlation between the total sugar content, reducing sugar content,nitrogen-nicotine ratio and altitude,a significant negatively correlation between the nitrogen content, chlorine content and altitude.[Conclusion] The study provides a reference for drawing up tobacco planting division, adjusting cultivation technology and choosing raw materials for cigarette industry of Hunan Province.
