Abstract

OBJECTIVE To discuss the relationship of plasma homocysteine and inflammation markers and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with coronary heart disease.METHODS In total 130 type Ⅱ diabetic patients were included in the study.Of these patients,35 patients had coronary heart disease and 95 patients had no evidence of atherosclerotic vascular disease. All patients and control were measured with Hcy,C-reactive protein and lipid parameters levels,40 healthy people were chosen as contro1.RESULTS The Hcy and inflammation markers levels(TC、TG、HDL-C、LDL-C)in T2DM were higher than those in controls(P0.05);Hcy and inflammation markers levels were all significantly elevated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with coronary heart disease, compared with patients without vascular disease(P0.05).Compared with the normal(7.35±3.64μmol/L) and group A(11.58±2.31 mg/L),the level of Hcy in Group B(17.78±3.25μmol/L) were all significantly elevated.Mean the while, compared with the normal(4.29±1.48 mg/L) and group A(11.58±2.31 mg/L),the level of C-reactive protein in Group B(19.76±3.26 mg/L) were all significantly elevated. There was no correlation between Hcy levels and inflammation markers.CONCLUSION The significant increase in Hcy and hs-crp levels may predict the early stage of T2DM combined with coronary heart disease.
