Study on Cognitive Mechanism of Conceptual Metaphor in English Polysemy

Polysemy cognition follows a certain rule though the cognitive process is complex.According to the theory proposed by cognitive linguistics,metaphor is one of the important ways to extend the meanings of vocabulary.A conclusion is drawn by exploring the connection between Conceptual Metaphor and the cognition of polysemy,that is,Conceptual Metaphor facilitates polysemy cognition and provides a complementary technique to established polysemy cognition methods.
