Efficacy comparison retween captopril and nitrendipine in the treatment of left ventricular hypertrophy on patients with hypertension

Abstract
Objective: To observe the curative efficacy of captopril on left ventricular hypertrophy. Methods: The blood pressure and left ventricular structural changes of 45 patients with hypertrophy were studided before and after 1 year's treatment of captopril , and compared with those of 45 patients with nitrendipine treatment. Results: In treatment group and comparison group,LVMI both decreased to P0.001,these two drugs had the same effect. Both could decrease blood pressure effectively and prevented left ventriculer hypertrophy. Conclusion: For the treatment of left ventricular hypertrophy in patients with hypertension, captopril could be selected as choice drugs.
