Abstract

A spectrophotometric method was developed based on the reaction of norfloxacin and alizarin red with the apparent molar absorptivity of 5.34×10 3L·mol -1 ·cm -1 at 521.5nm in H 2O CH 3CH 2OH solution. The liner range of Beer's law is 3—60mg/L with the standard deviation of 0.67%.The method applied to the determination of norfolxacin in capsules. The recovery is over 95%.
