Abstract

【Objective】 To observe the expression of DD3 mRNA in prostate cancer and analyze its correlation with clinical stage and pathological grade of prostate cancer.【Methods】 SYBR-Green I quantitative real-time RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of DD3 mRNA in 34 prostate cancer tissues,20 benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues and 3 kinds of prostate cancer cell lines. The relationship between DD3 and the clinical-pathological parameters in prostate cancer were evaluated.Data were analyzed with SPSS 13.0 statistical software.【Results】 Expression of DD3 mRNA in prostate cancer tissues and prostate cancer cell lines was significantly higher than in benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues(P 0.001).With the increasing of clinical stage and pathologic grade in prostate cancer,DD3 mRNA expression levels were significantly increased simultaneously(P 0.001).【Conclusion】 The results of this study indicate potential utility of DD3 mRNA as a early diagnostic biomarker for prostate cancer. Its correlation with clinical stage and pathological grade suggests it may play an important role in the development and progression in prostate cancer.
