The Clinical Efficacy of Montelukast Sodium in the Treatment and Prevention of 90 Patients with Cough Variant Asthma

Objective:To discuss the effect of montelukast sodium for the treatment of children with cough variant asthma.Methods:The patients in control group were all treated with conventional treatment.The ones in study group were treated by montelukast sodium on the basis of treatment in control group,and controled the dosage according to the different age.To record and analysis the relief of clinical symptoms,cough disappeared time,recurrence after 6 months,routine urine before and after treatment,liver and kidney function and so on.Results:The treatment efficiency of study group(96.67%)was significantly better than the control group(83.33%).The patients in two groups obtained varying degrees of clinical symptoms after treatment.The time of cough disappear and clinical remission in study group was significantly shorter than control group,and the rate of relapse in study group was less than control group significantly.Conclusion:The treatment of montelukast sodium for children with cough variant asthma has significant therapeutic effect,and it could reduce the amount of hormone drugs.
