A Study of Rhyme Group by Native Dongguan Poets in Ming Dynasty

Abstract

This article studies rhyme application by Native Dongguan Poets in Ming Dynasty and analyzes the divergence and convergence of rhyme groups by contrast with Guang Rhyme.Based on the study 22 rhyme groups are generalized: 9 upper tone rhyme groups,9 lower tone rhyme groups and 4 entering tone rhyme groups.It shows that rhyme group system of Native Dongguan Poets in Ming Dynasty is quite unique,different from Guang Rhyme phonology,the criterion to poets in all ages,and also from Hongwu Rhyme that represented mandarin phonology of that time.
