Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of knife needles in treating cervical spondylosis of nerve root type. Methods One hundred and fifty patients were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups. The treatment group received a micro-invasive knife needle operation and the control group was treated by routine point selection and electroacupuncture. The therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups. Results and conclusion The excellent and good rate and the total efficacy rate were 75.3% and 95.3%, respectively, in the treatment group and 52.3% and 87.7%, respectively, in the control group. Although there was no statistically significant difference in the total efficacy rate between the two groups (P0.05), the excellent and good rate was significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P0.01).
