Abstract
[Objective] To observe the clinical curative effect of medicine-separated moxibustion with plum-blossom needle on nerve root type cervical spondylosis. [Methods] The 150 patients with vertebral cervical spondylosis of nerve root type were randomly divided into treatment group of 90 cases and control group of 60 cases. The treatment group was treated with medicine-separated moxibustion with plum-blossom needle; the control group was treated with drug and traction and the effects of the two groups were assessed by speciallyassigned person. [Results] In the treatment group, the clinical cure rate was 51.1% and the total effective rate was 97.8%; in the control group, the clinical cure rate was 18.3% and the total effective rate was 78.3%. The total effective rate and clinical cure rate in treatment group was better than that in control group. The comparison of treatment process and the curative effect of those cured patients indicated that the total curative rate in treatment group in one period of treatment or two were higher than those in the control group, indicating that medicine-separated moxibustion companied with plum needle stab could significantly shorten the treatment process of patients with nerve root type cervical spondylosis. The curative effect of treatment group was better than control group and the difference between these two groups had a statistical significance(P0.05). [Conclusion] The effect of medicine-separated moxibustion with plum-blossom needle on nerve root type cervical spondylosis is distinct and it is worth clinical application.
