Abstract

Objective To investigate the expressions of KiSS-1 and TIMP-1 in human breast cancer and the significance in lymph node metastasis breast cancer. Methods The expression of KiSS-1 and TIMP-1 protein were detected by immunohistochemistry S-P method in 90 cases of breast cancer and 40 cases of normal adjacent of breast cancer. Results In breast cancer, the positive expression rates in KiSS-1 and TIMP-1 proteins were 75.6% and 81.1%,significantly higher than which in normal tissues, that were 42.5% and 52.5%,(P0.05).The positive expressions of KiSS-1 and TIMP-1 proteins in lymph node metastasis cases were 27.0% and 32.4% significantly lower than which in unmetastasis tissues, which were 83.0% and 73.6%,(P0.05).Conclusion KiSS-1 and TIMP-1 proteins may play an important role in carcinogenesis of breast cancer and inhibiting the lymph node metastasis of breast cancer.
