Relationship of c-erbB-2 expression to ER,pS2,clinical stage,axillary lymphnode involvement in invasive duetal type carcinoma of breast

Objective To investigate the expression of c-erbB-2 in invasive ductal type carcinoma of breast and its relationship to estrogen receptor (ER), pS2, clinical stage and axillary lymphnode involvement. Methods The expressions of c-erbB-2, ER and pS2 were determined by immunohistochemical Evision staining in 58 cases with invasive dactal type carcinoma of breast. Results Tumors positive rate of c-erbB-2 were 80. 65% (25/30) and 53.5% (13/28) in ER negative and positive group respectively (P0.05). While tumors positive rate of c-erbB-2 were 76.92% (20/25) and 66. 6% (22/33) in pS2 positive group and PS-2 negative group respectively (p0.25). C-erbB-2 expression in breast cancer was correlated with advanced clinical stage (P0.005). C-erbB-2 expression in axillary ltymphnode involvement positive group is higher than lymphnode negative group (p0.25). Conclusions C-erbB-2 expression in tumor cells would be a helpful factor to the evaluation of prognosis and treatment in invasive ductal type carcinoma of breast.
