Therapeutic Effect of Medical Ozone Combined with Weilinxian on Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of the treatment for knee osteoarthritis(KOA) using injection of medical ozone combined with washing of Weilinxian.Methods:From October 2009 to October 2010,120 patients with KOA were treated by the injection with ozone(concentration of 35 μg/mL)and washing with Weilinxian.47 males and 73 females with average age of 64.1 were included.The patients were randomly divided into 3 groups,group A accepted injection of ozone,group B accepted washing of Weilinxian and group C accepted the combined treatment of ozone and Weilinxian.Results:All patients were followed at 1,3 and 6 months after treatment.The VAS and HSS scores were used to evaluate the clinical effects.Satisfied effects were found in each group,but the effect of ozone injection combined with washing of Weilinxian was significantly better than using ozone or Weilinxian alone.No complications related to the treatment occurred.Conclusions :Injection of medical ozone combined with washing of Weilinxian is a safe and effective method for knee osteoarthritis.
