Abstract
The effects of different preservatives on vase life and quality of cut Gerbera jamesonii flower were studied. The results showed that prescription T7 (20g/L Suc + 200 mg/L 8-HQC + 150mg/L CA + 75mg/L KH2PO4?H2O + 1g/L CaCl2) was the best of the 7 various preservatives. It could extend the vase life of cut G. jamesonii flower significantly. Preservative no.7 (T7) decreased decomposition rate of anthocyanidin and retarded the increase of pH value and relative plasmalemma permeability in petals of cut G. jamesonii flower.
