Abstract

Tao Yuan-ming himself and his poems are both difficult to understand. His supernatural personality and poems are quite beyond the ordinary scope of observation and perception. So the understanding of him and his works stay on the surface. The paper wants to express that Tao Yuan-ming is not a passive escapee but a real strong person in life. His existence reminds us that what an important thing it is for people to enjoy freedom and independence of spiritual life.
