Revision endoscopic sinus surgery on chronic sinusitis and polyps

Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of reoperation for recurrent sinusitis and polyps.Methods: Reoperation by endoscope was performed in 46 patients,of which Messerklinger′s technique was used in 32,and Wigand′s technique was used in 14.Results: Reoperation was successful in 39 patients(78.3%),but not in 10(21.7%).Complication was found in 1 patient.Conclusion: Revision endoscopic sinus surgery is effective for recurrent sinusitis and polyps.CT scanning has salutary effect for reducing complications.
