Reoperation for recurrent chronic sinusitis and polyps by endoscopy

Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of endoscopy for recurrent chronic sinusitis and polyps. Methods:One hundred and twenty-four patients were reoperated on by endoscopy.Messerklinger technique and Stryker debrider were adopted during operation.Results: There were 82 cases with satisfactory,31 with improved and 11 with unimproved results.Conclusion: Revision endoscopic sinus surgery is advised in most of the recurrent chronic sinusitis and polyps with nasal adhesion and obstruction except for nasal polyp disease.Bronchial asthma does not affect the revision endoscopic sinus surgery.
