Abstract

The capacity of ion exchange on Ca2+zeolite, the isotherm of ion exchange equilibrium and some thermodynamic properties are studied. The results showed that the whole exchange capacity of NH4+ on zeolite decreases with raising the pH value and is 79.321mmol/100g at pH=7. This process takes place spontaneously along positive direction, and its selectivity would be decreased with enhancing the temperature. Those results can afford the theoretical foundation for development of the treatment technology by zeolite for wastewater including NH3-N.
