Cozzar Tablet vs Captopril Tablet in Treating Hypertension

Abstract

Objective To compare the effect of cozzar with captopril on hypertensive disease.Methods Among 158 mild to moderate hypertensive patients,96 patients(M 66,F 30,age of average 52.3 years old) received cozzar 50mg,po,qd for 4 weeks;62 patients(M 46,F 16,age of average 51.0 years old) received captopril 50mg,po,tid for 4 weeks.Results The clinical total effective rate of Cozzar group was higher than that of captopril group (94.80% vs 80.60%,P0.05).Adverse effects of Cozzar group were fewer than those of captopril group(14.6% vs 20.9%,P0.05).Conclusion Cozzar is a safe and effective drug on hypertensive disease,and superior to captopril.
