Abstract
An investigation into biochemical aspects of Peroxidase(POD),Polyphenoloxidase(PPO),Catalase(CAT),Superoxidase dismutase(SOD) in different growth periods of anther in cytoplasmic male sterile(CMS) K132A and its maintainer line K132B has been performed. The results showed that the activities of POD,PPO and SOD in male sterile line were obviously higher than that in maintainer line, and they increased with the bud development while they decreased in maintainer line. However, the activity of CAT in male sterile line was lower than that in maintainer line, suggesting that the unbalance enzyme activities might be responsible for the male sterility in K132A,it would provide some basic knowledge for the explication of male sterility.
