Determination and Comparison of Eight Metal Elements in Different Tissues of Celery (Apium graveolens L.) by Microwave Digestion-FAAS

Abstract

A flame atomic absorption spectrophotometric(FAAS) method based on microwave digestion was used for the determination of eight metal elements(Na,K,Ca,Mg,Fe,Mn,Zn and Cu) in different tissues(roots,stems and leaves) of celery.Results showed that three different tissues of celery were all rich in Na,K,Mg,Fe,and the contents of the eight elements were varied.The content of Fe in roots of celery was 883.57 μg·g-1,which was obviously higher than those in stems and leaves.The contents of Ca,Zn and Mn in leaves of celery were 11 103.74,214.04,88.07 μg·g-1,which were obviously higher than those in roots and stems,and the contents of K,Na and Mg in stems of celery were higher than those in roots and leaves.There were little differences in the content of Cu in different tissues of celery.The recovery ratios by standard addition in a real sample were within the range of 96.8%~105.8%,with relative standard deviations(RSD) of no more than 3.36%.
