The Expression and Significance of PCNA in Brain Glioma

Abstract

Objective:To examine the relationship between Immunohistochemical expression of the Prociferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and pathology in brain glioma,to discuss the value of PCNA in brain glioma prognosis estimation.Method:Immunohistochemistry was used to study the expression of PCNA in 47 cases of brain gliomas and 12 cases of normal brain tissues.Result: PCNA almost positively expressed in gliomas and all negatively expressed in normal brain tissues,the expression in gliomas was more higher than in control group(P0.01) and increased along with the growing of pathology grade(P0.05).Conclusion:This study suggests that the determination of PCNA is a useful indicator for the gliomas prognosis estimation.
