Abstract
Objective: To probe the expression of P27 and PCNA and Clinical implication in children's cerebral gliomas. Methods: The expression of P27 and PCNA in 48 glioma specimens and in 9 normal brain tissues was visualized by immunohistochemical techniques. Results: Positive expression percentage of P27 protein in gliomas was 58.3%, significantly lower than that in normal brain tissue(100%), (P0.05) and the expression of P27 protein was negatively correlated with pathological grade of gliomas (r=0.515, P0.01), i.e. the expression of P27 protein decreased gradually with the increasing of malignant degree of gliomas. The expression of PCNA protein was positively correlated with pathological grade of gliomas (r=0.022, P 0.05). Conclusion: P27 and PCNA can be an useful indicator for judging malignant degree of gliomas.
