Abstract
Objective To investigate the role of ammonia and sIgA in chronic superficial gastritis induced by Helicobacter pylori(HP).Methods 63 patients with chronic superficial gastritis were divided into slight, mild, severe gastritis and active, non active gastritis. The ammonia and sIgA levels of gastric juice were measured. Results HP was found in 31 cases among 63 patients with chronic superficial gastritis(49.21%).The average concentration of ammonia and sIgA in HP positive patients were higher than that of HP negative patients ( P 0.001). Ammonia in gastric juice in HP positive patients with active gastritis had no difference with that in HP positive patients with non active gastritis( P 0.05);but sIgA in HP positive patients with active gastritis was higher than that in HP positive with non active gastritis patients( P 0.05). Ammonia in slight gastritis were lower than that in severe gastritis( P 0.05);sIgA level in slight gastritis were lower than that in mild, high gastritis( P 0.05).Conclusion That ammonia and sIgA might play an important role in the pathogenesis of HP positive gastritis.
