Abstract
A virus named as 61/GO/GD/05 of Goose Paramyxovirus isolated from Guangdong was studied for its biological characteristics. The results showed as follows: the mean death time(MDT) of embryo eggs was 78 h,the intracerebral pathogenicity index(ICPI) was 1.70,and the intravenous pathogenicity index(IVPI) was 2.34.The 50% goose dose lethal media(LD50) was 10-1.93/0.2 mL.Pathogenicity study showed that this strain was pathogenic to both 21-day-old chickens and 16-day-old geese. All the indexes indicated that strain 61/GO/GD/05 was a virulent virus. The molecular biology analysis of F gene showed that strain 61/GO/GD/05 belonged to genotype VII.
