Abstract

Objective:To analyze and evaluate prescriptions of outpatients in our hospital during 2008-2009,and to promote rational drug use. Methods:According to regulation the management of and SDUIs(selected drug use indicators),using prescription evaluation system designed and programmed by ourself, the prescriptions of outpatients in our hospital in 2008 and 2009 were analyzed and evaluated. Results:Rates of using antibiotics, injection agents and traditional medicine for injection in 2009 decreased by 2.52%,0.79% and 0.51% respectively than those in 2008;while rates of using generic drugs, traditional drugs and OTC drugs increased by 4.77%,1.94% and 15.18% respectively;the number of prescriptions, the averages of categories of drugs in each prescription and total costs of prescriptions, the average cost in each prescription all increased at different degrees. The prescriptions of irrational drug use decreased by 52.67%.Conclusion:The results indicated that improvement of prescriptions including antibiotics and generic drugs was associated with education and intervention for promoting rational drug use.Further studies should be focused on rational use of drugs specified to different categories of diseases.
