Expression of CD_(44v6) and Its Clinical Significance in Early Cervical Carcinoma

Objective To explore the expression of CD 44v6 and its clinical significance in early cervical carcinoma.Methods The expression of C D 44v6 in 85 cases of early cervical carcinoma and 15 cases of normal cervical epithelia were examined by immunohistochemistry SP method,and the relationships between the expression of CD 44v6 and the factors related with clinical pathology of cervical carcinoma were analyzed statistically.Results It was found that the positive rates of CD 44v6 expression followed this order:normal cervical epithelium→cervical carcinoma in situ→invasive carcinoma of cervix (P0.01).There was significant correlation between the expression of CD 44v6 and invasive carcinoma of cervix,pelvic lymphonode metastasis,intravascular involvement and histopathological types (P0.05),but no correlation between it and age,FIGO staging,histopathological grading and stroma involvement (P0.05).The positive expression rates of CD 44v6 in patients with pelvic lymph node metastasis, intravascular involvement and squamous cell carcinoma were significantly higher than those in the cases without them (P0.05 ).Conclusions The positive expression of CD 44v6 in invasive carcinoma of cervix might play an important role during the development,lymph node metastasis and intravascular involvement of cancer cells.
