On the Issue of the Names of Chinese American Writers

When Chinese American writers are mentioned in the publications on Chinese American literature in Chinese, their Chinese names are adopted in most cases up to now. This paper, after making an analysis of the trouble and embarrassment resulting from the present way of dealing with the names, argues that it is not conformed to the real life situations of these writers, and maintains that the names of Chinese American writers in Chinese publications should be handled the same as those of other American writers, that is, to adopt the transliterations of their English names.
