Abstract
The mechanism and characteristics of combined ultrasonic and electric-discharge machining were analyzed.Several kinds of micro-cathodes with different sections were manufactured by electric-discharge micro-machining.The test of combined ultrasonic and electric-discharge machining was carried out.It is proved that ultrasonic machining is an effective method for micro-structures of hard and brittle materials.High productivity and good precision can be obtained by applying combined ultrasonic and electric-discharge machining to micro-structures of metal materials.
