Abstract
Thirty endophytic fungi have been isolated from the bark of Taxus chinensis var.mairei.Morphologic and ITS-5.8S rDNA sequence identification methods used in combination identified one of them(XH004)to be Bionectria sp.,which is a newly-recorded species in Taxaceae endophytic fungi.Bacteriostatic test, cytotoxic test, thin layer chromatography(TLC)and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)confirmed that the metabolites of XH004 had obvious bacteriostatic and cytocidal activities and suggested that they probably contain certain taxol or taxol analog.
