Abstract

Hongjiadu face rockfill dam with a height of 179.5 m located at a karst gorge, which left bank is high and precipitous, and the topography of left and right banks is asymmetrical. According to those features, in design of water stop in joint of the dam, its original design was optimized, used the experience and newest achievements of constructing face rockfill dam in home and abroad for reference. As well as combining the model test of water stop structure of peripheral joint surface and design research of water stop structure, the paper raises some measures for improving the design.
