Investigation of Relation between Indoor Air Pollution in House Decorated Latterly and Sick Building Syndrome

Objective To know the relation between indoor air pollution in house decorated latterly and sick building syndrome.Methods Formaldehyde concentration and concentration of benzene series in the air in houses decorated latterly were determined.vacancy time of the room,sick building syndrome,history of past illness and history of present illness were investigated by questionnaire survey.Results The formaldehyde concentration exceeded the national standard limit and the concentration of benzene series were not exceeded the national standard limits,there was the negative correlation between the formaldehyde concentration and vacancy time of the room.The probability of mucosa stimulated syndrome was significantly related to the formaldehyde concentration,and was not related to the concentration of benzene series.The probability of adverse effect in nervous system was related to formaldehyde and benzene.Conclusion The formaldehyde is the main pollution factor causing sick building syndrome.It will be good for health to move in the house decorated latterly at least six months later.
