Abstract

Songyang Academies in Dengfeng is one of the four largest Academies and is characterized by its long history and profound connotation of culture. The characteristics of Songyang Academy lie in its private education. It has a long history of over one thousand years and has a profound teaching ideology. Also, it has an important influence on ancient education. It is the place where Cheng-hao and Cheng-yi started their LiXue, and had an important effect on promoting the system of the philosophy. After that, LiXue became the kernel of teaching in Songyang Academy. Songyang Academy lies at the foot of Mount Songshan, and is a part of Songshan culture.
